Vince Carter Retires After 22 Seasons

The NBA season may be continuing, but this superstar is hanging up his Nike Shox and calling it a career. After 22 seasons Vince Carter is retiring.

With the season cut short in March and the Atlanta Hawks out of playoff contention it makes perfect sense for the half man half amazing Vinsanity to walk away on his terms.

Vince was drafted with the pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 1998 draft. He played 7 years with Toronto. Then playing 5 years with the then New Jersey Nets. 2 years with the Magic which he split time with the Phoenix Suns in the 2010-11 season. 3 with the Mavs and 3 with the Grizzlies. A year with the Kings and his final 2 years in Atlanta. Vince has a career average of 17.2 points with his higher ppg coming in his 3rd season with the Raptors at 27.6. Below are a few of his many accolades:

  • Olympic gold medal: 2000
  • NBA All-Rookie First Team: 1999
  • NBA Slam Dunk Champion: 2000
  • 8× NBA All-Star selection: 2000–2007 (did not play in 2002 due to injury)
