As Congress attempted to finish the count of electoral votes to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s win. Some people had other plans in mind. Trump supporters decided to riot. Breaking into the US Capitol building. This happened shortly after Trump made comments again that he won the election back in November. Which he didn’t. he lost.
A woman who was shot in the US Capitol Building as Pro-Trump supporters tried to break into the House Chamber has died according to the Associated Press.
DC’s Mayor Muriel Bowser announced a curfew from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday for people inside Washington’s jurisdiction.
Virginia’s Ralph Northam also announced a State of Emergency for the Commonwealth and put Arlington and Alexandria under a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew because of the violence seen in DC.
Also because of the violence Wednesday, Metrorail service ending at 8 p.m. and Metrobus services will end at 9 p.m. according to a news release from the agency.
