The POPE Chuck Paul sat down with Victorious DeCosta and talked about his documentary on Weldon Irvine entitled “Digging for Weldon Irvine”. We talked about how Victorious got into film, producing and directing. We also talked about Weldon’s early life in Hampton, Virginia playing jazz and working with Nina Simone and then transitioning into hiphop and mentoring MC’s you may have heard of such as Mos Def and Talib Kweli to name a few. We also touch on mental illness and how it played a part in his suicide.
