On Tuesday, February 27, Karl “Little D” Jordan Jr. and Ronald “Tinard” Washington were found guilty of killing Run-D.M.C.’s beloved DJ, Jam Master Jay inside his studio in Queens. They both faced one count of firearm-related murder and one count of murder while engaged in narcotics trafficking after they shot and killed Jay, born Jason Mizell, over an alleged dispute involving a cocaine deal gone wrong. Washington was Mizell’s childhood friend while Jordan was Mizell’s godson.
Jordan and Washington both face 20 years to life in prison or the death penalty.
