Legendary Hip Hop photographer Ricky Powell passed away on Monday. A staple in hip hop photography. Most known for taking flicks of the Beastie Boys while they were on a joint tour with RUN DMC, he also photographed Chuck D, LL COOL J, Madonna, Eric B and Rakim, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and Basquiat Just to name a few. I didn’t know him personally, but I am quite sure we crossed paths being that we have several mutual friends. 2021 is already off to a rocky start, lets keep his friends and family in our prayers.
