Brett Favre Involved In $8 Million Welfare Scam

Former Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre is currently involved in an $8 million welfare scam in his home state of Mississippi. Favre has a direct contact with Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and other officials.

Between 2016 and 2018, the nonprofit Mississippi Community Education Center gave $5 million—allegedly at Favre’s request—to the University of Southern Mississippi, where Favre attended and where his daughter also attended and played volleyball, to pay for a new volleyball court, according to Mississippi Today; the nonprofit also paid Favre $1.1 million to promote a program called Families First.

The state is suing Favre and others, alleging they misspent millions of dollars in welfare money. The director of the nonprofit has pleaded guilty to criminal charges in Mississippi’s largest public corruption case in decades.
