29 year old Jacob Blake was shot 7 times in the back by a Kenosha Police Officer Rusten Sheskey on the afternoon of August 23rd. Reports say Blake was breaking up a fight that didn’t involve him and police were called. Video has surfaced (that I will not post) shows Blake walking away from 3 police officers and opening his car door. He had 3 of his children in the back seat. One of the police officers grabs him by the back of the shirt while Blake opened his front car door when the officer shot him 7 times in the back at point blank range while his children were still in the back seat of the vehicle.
Usually when we hear these stories the victim usually is killed in this case Jacob Blake survived. Barely. The 29-year-old spine’s was severed and his vertebrae were shattered by the bullets. Blake had extensive injuries to his internal organs and that surgeons had to remove almost his entire colon and small intestine. These are all of the FACTS.
Some reports say he had a warrant, but my question is is that why the officers were there? 3 officers 1 man. You let him walk all the way to his car? He could’ve been taken down with deadly force. Is it safe to fire off multiple rounds that close to children? These are the questions me and the black community have. Why must we fear being killed when we call for help? If your first question is why did he resist and not why the officer had to shoot you are the real problem.
As more reports become available I will make sure to keep you posted.
