Sunday we witnessed history as a slew of Academy Award Winners received oscars for their first time after decades of hard work and some doubled up! It felt good seeing that the #oscarssoblack was trending! Winners included Regina King for actress in a supporting role, Mahershala Ali won actor for supporting role for the second time! A first time ever! The legend Spike Lee also took home an Oscar and a slew of awards went to Marvel’s Black Panther which was Marvels first Academy Award!
I always say we shouldn’t look to be acknowledged by white award shows, but at the same time a lot of these thespians have worked their whole life for this prestigious moment.
